2026 Autumn NEWSLETTER

Hello Dear Readers,

Greetings from sunny Sardinia!

This is a newsletter with a view! After a summer of hard work, we booked a last minute trip away with our youngest who is about to fledge off to university later this month, so making the most of the time before she goes.

I say a summer of hard work because I have just finished a second round of edits on my next novel which will be out in 2027. There will be more news on this in my next newsletter as no official announcement has been made yet, BUT I can’t wait to tell you about it!

I do, however, have an exciting giveaway to announce! I am happy to be giving away not one, but two of my favourite reads this year (pictured below). THE GLASS KEY by Amanda Geard is a sweeping and beautiful historical dual timeline mystery, set in Northern Norway and rural Ireland, while THE SECRET SOCIETY OF LIBRARIANS by Kate Thompson is an incredible story of bravery and the astonishing power of books, set in London and occupied Poland during WWII. I have been fortunate to have been invited to a few events, conferences and festivals this year. Highlights so far have included the Historical Novel Society Conference in Maynooth, Ireland in August. It’s always so invigorating to spend time with other authors from around the world, reconnecting with old friends and meeting new, and of course wearing a tiara to a gala dinner is always a plus! It was also fun to be at Arundel Arts Festival on an open stage, whipped by a strong wind, chatting all things historical fiction with fellow authors, Jacquie Bloise, Louise Morrish and Louise Hare and a lovely, engaged audience.

Later this month I’ll be travelling to Cluj-Napoca in Romania for the Transylvanian International Book Festival which runs from 23rd to 27th September. I’ll be talking at 8 pm on 25th September! I’m excited to be visiting a historic part of the world I’ve not been to before and will report back in my next newsletter.

Straight back from Romania, I’ll be travelling to sunny Eastbourne for the inaugural Eastbourne Literary festival on Sunday 27th September where fellow authors, Nicola Gill, Frances Quinn, Nikki Smith and I will be spilling the beans on what it’s really like to be an author. If you are in the area, do come along and say hello! Tickets can be purchased here

I will also be at Teignmouth Book Festival on 7th November at 5 30pm with authors Eve Smith, Simon McCleave and Kirsten Hesketh talking about ‘Another Place, Another Time’. Again, it would be lovely to see you if you are in the area. Tickets can be purchased here
